Update: I did get it to boot in non-Safe Mode by first going into Safe Mode and loading msconfig.exe, and under the General tab unchecking every box. So you are right, one of RAM must have died. On the other hand, maybe you can log in but then Windows freezes and you have to reboot manually. I would also inspect the system event log in Windows to see if you see any consistent error messages just before the BSOD each time.
