Fast startup isn't used on a restart, only on a power up start. Once or twice a week? Only thing I've done is removed a stick of ram, and since then I've only had 5 freezes in about 43h, compare to 16 the 24 hours before that. More often memory corruption happens because of software errors in buggy drivers, not because of faulty RAM modules.
