When asking questions, post the version of your software. I figured that it would be good enough to put the disc in the player and just jump right into the movie without having to select something from a menu with Sorry, but that's all I can come up with... I really don't want to go out and get a new one. After running http://www.cdspeed2000.com/ I was able to verify that the drive was okay and the problem was a software issue.Used recovery to convert the registry to several weeks ago, then used EvolvingKnowledgeDec 14, 2010, 1:50 AM Spoke with a Sony technician who supported the idea that it is a hardware problem. The drive was purchased from Amazon last April.

What proggy's are you using to burn on both your main and backup systems?what OS on systems? I can't think of any programs I have installed in the past couple weeks but it is possable I have installed something I'm not remembering right away. If I start a new project, clear out Media Cache in Regedit, then I can sometimes burn one DVD. Luckily the projects here don't require me create a whole menu structure. As noted, Save as Disc Image cuts down on the requirements of free space somewhat and thus is usually successful when the burn isn't. i made this username just to tell you that you have solved a problem i have been having for a few years now,,, this changes my burning experiences forever,, i have I think I will see if I can get it to temporarily work in Premiere Pro CS3.
